Doyle Collection appoints Frits Potgieter as GM of Kensington hotel
Frits Potgieter has been appointed general manager of the Doyle Collection's 150-bedroom Kensington hotel, London.
He replaces Beccy Gunn, who previously held the position for one year.
Potgieter joined the Doyle Collection in 2012 as hotel manager at the Marylebone hotel, where he oversaw a team of 175 and the refurbishment of Pantry at 108, the hotel's new and all-day dining concept.
A graduate in industrial psychology and strategic business management from the University of Johannesburg, Potgieter started his career in 1999 at Brands Hatch Thistle hotel before moving to Radisson Edwardian Hotels. He joined the Red Carnation Hotel Collection in 2005 as deputy general manager at the Chesterfield Mayfair hotel, before moving onto the same position at sister property, the Milestone.
Potgieter said that he was thrilled to be joining the Kensington hotel, describing it as "one of London's most iconic townhouse hotels".
"I look forward to continuing the great work that the Kensington hotel team have already done while adding my own personal touch to ensure the hotel remains a favourite choice for local, national and international visitors to London."
The Doyle Collection has eight hotels in the UK, Ireland and US, including three in London (Bloomsbury, Kensington and Marylebone) and one in Bristol.
