Leon announces expansion drive as it opens new London site
Fast-casual group Leon Restaurants has confirmed plans to open four new sites in London by the end of the year, with the first set for Farringdon this month (September).
The new shop will offer the brand's usual combination of all-day, eat-in and takeaway options.
The other sites confirmed so far are Tottenham Court Road, and Victoria Place in Victoria Station. All are part of a new period of expansion for the brand, which is also hoping to open 12 more locations by the end of 2015.
The brand is also considering sites outside of London, and even hoping to be in the United States by 2016.
Originally co-founded by John Vincent and Henry Dimbleby, with chef Allegra McEvedy, Leon was started with a view to creating a "fast-food"-style operation that served high-quality, healthier options. It offers a range of dishes changing throughout the day, such as porridge, egg pots, pastries and cakes, wraps, salads, flatbreads, mezze plates, tagines, meatballs and burgers.
It also sells milk-free shakes, juice, coffee, tea, and alcohol in the evenings, and its menu points out health-conscious characteristics, such as wheat and gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, low glycaemic load, low saturated fat, and "treat".
The group currently runs to 17 sites, including Carnaby Street, Canary Wharf, Spitalfields, Brent Cross and Regent Street.
