Michelin awards 26 new Bib Gourmands

Michelin UK has released details of the 26 restaurants to have gained a Bib Gourmand in its Guide for Great Britain and Ireland 2015.

Among the restaurants the guide rates as offering good food at affordable prices (a limit of £28 for three courses) are Bibo in Putney (run by chef Chris Beverley and backed by restaurateur Rebecca Mascarenhas), Made by Bob in Cirencester and Passorn in Edinburgh.

The Michelin UK guide editor Rebecca Burr said: "The Bib Gourmand awards also reflect the continuing trend for competitively priced, less structured and more flexible dining. These include Ibérico World Tapas in Derby, 64° in Brighton and Palomar in Soho; as well as the Gannet and Ox and Finch, both in Glasgow."

In total there were nine new Bib Gourmand's in London, with Scotland and Northern Ireland each securing three new ratings.

Those that were deleted from the list of Bib Gourmand's included the Fox and Grapes in Wimbledon, the Ginger Pig in Brighton and the Butchers Arms of Woolhope in Herefordshire.
