Metropolitan Pub Company to open Tulse Hill hotel
The former Tulse Hill Tavern in South London is being transformed into the Tulse Hill Hotel by the Metropolitan Pub Company.
Dating back to 1840, the property, which is set to open early next month, will offer nine bedrooms, restaurant, private dining room for up to 14 guests, chef's table for five, bar, lounge and al fresco dining.
The renovation will retain much of the building's original architectural details including the signage and copper lanterns outside, while the interior will feature parquet flooring, wood paneling and a reclaimed 1920s bar.
The Metropolitan Pub Company aims to create a "home away from home" across its portfolio of unbranded London pubs which include the Artisan of Clerkenwell, the Vine in Kentish Town, the Ladbroke Arms in Notting Hill, the Clarence in Balham, the World's End in Finsbury Park, and the Merchant near Clapham Junction.
Earlier this year it launched the 14th century pub the City Barge, in Chiswick, with 280 covers, following a significant refurbishment.
