Si Ord teams up with Anthony Flinn to open Leeds pub
Leeds publican Si Ord is set to open a new venue in the city's Call Lane, called the Black Swan, with Anthony Flinn as consultant chef.
The new venue is backed by owner Shane Quigley (pictured left, with Ord) and offers Yorkshire food, craft beers, wine, cocktails and sourdough pizzas.
Ord also runs the Sandinista bar in Leeds, as well as the New Orleans-inspired Smokestack on Lower Briggate and, a second Northern Quarter spot, Blind Tyger.
Quigley co-founded digital marketing agency Epiphany in 2005, later spearheading the company's Australian expansion.
Flinn, of food consultancy Darkside Consultants, will oversee the serving of a range of sourdough pizza and locally-sourced, hearty meals.
Si Ord said: "Call Lane is such a hive of activity in Leeds, a go-to destination for Leeds locals and tourists alike. However, we're really keen to break the mould with The Black Swan, making it somewhere not just for late night sessions, but an afternoon chinwag, great ales and the best Sunday roast in town.
Quigley added: "I've always felt Leeds is missing that 'third space', not work or home, but somewhere you can relax with friends, chat with colleagues, even pitch to a prospective client. When this spot became available on Call Lane I knew it was the perfect opportunity and having known Si - as a loyal patron and friend - for many years, I'm confident that we have something really progressive to offer."
The Black Swan opens its doors fully on 30 October but is offering free pizza all night on 28 October 2014 and is offering the chance for 50 people to win free pizza for a year.
