Hospitality leaders to address Culture, Media and Sport select committee

Representatives from the hospitality industry are to give evidence to the Culture, Media and Sport select committee today (Tuesday) as part of the tourism enquiry.

The aim of the inquiry is to establish how best build a framework to better support the hospitality and tourism industry in its growth to the benefit of local economies and the country as a whole.

Today it will hear from British Hospitality Association chief executive Ufi Ibrahim and Tourism Alliance direction Kurt Janson, as well as representatives from Bourne Leisure including Butlins managing director Dermot King.

They aim to explain the benefits of a VAT cut for hospitality, describe the regulatory burden on tourism businesses and address visa arrangements.

A transcript of the session will also be available early next week on the Select Committee's website.
