Las Iguanas to open in new Woking Shopping centre

Latin-American style restaurant and bar group Las Iguanas is to open a new site in the new retail and entertainment centre Woking Shopping.

The 4,766 sq ft restaurant is expected to open next spring, and will be the group's first Surrey location.

The new site will join other new restaurant brands in the shopping centre, including Bill's, Carluccio's, and Tante Marie's Culinary Academy restaurant, which are planning to open before Christmas this year.

It will serve the brand's usual style of dishes, inspired by Latin American, Spanish, Portuguese and African influences, with the autumn menu currently featuring Patagonian albondigas, baked butternut squash with prawns and cheese, chicken with chorizo and cannelloni beans, and original takes on classic drinks such as the caipirinha and margarita.

Founded in 1991, Las Iguanas currently runs to over 35 locations across the UK, including five in London, three in Bristol, two apiece in Sheffield, Cardiff and Manchester; plus others in Leeds, Cambridge, Reading, Brighton, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

It most recently opened its Derby branch in October, and has also announced a soon-to-open site in Norwich.

Woking Shopping is a shopping, restaurant, cinema and theatre complex. It also houses brands such as Burger King, Café Rouge, Costa, KFC, and Patisserie Valerie.
