Former Murano head chef Diego Cardoso takes on new London venture

A new all-day restaurant and bar with Diego Cardoso, former head chef of Angela Hartnett's Murano, at the helm, is to open in central London in March 2015.

Named Percy & Founders, the 200-cover site will be operated by Open House, new sister company to Cubitt House, as part of its development from traditional pubs and rooms into informal dining-room settings.

Set within the new Fitzroy Place development in Fitzrovia (on the site of the former Middlesex Hospital), the restaurant has been named after the Duke of Northumberland, Hugh Percy, and the group of philanthropists who founded the hospital in 1755.

It will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner inspired by British and European influences.

Formerly head chef at the Michelin-starred Murano since 2008, Cardoso left in May this year and was succeeded by existing Murano chef Pip Lacey.
