Sodexo wins FM contract with Diageo

French-owned foodservice giant Sodexo has won a contract to act as facilities management partner in the UK and Ireland to drinks producer Diageo.

Sodexo will deliver the full range of hard and soft services across 70 sites, from Diageo's global headquarters in London to manufacturing plants and distilleries.

The company will provide planned and reactive maintenance, helpdesk, cleaning, catering, reception, hospitality and horticultural services, as well as manage Diageo's brand stores and staff shops, as part of the three-year deal.

Neil Murray, managing director of Sodexo Corporate Services, said: "Sodexo is delighted to be working as a strategic partner with Diageo to deliver integrated facilities management services in the UK and Ireland.

"People are at the heart of both our organisations, and we share core values which celebrate the diversity of our employees and a commitment to their engagement and professional development.

"Sodexo places a great deal of emphasis on its quality of life proposition, for both our customers and employees, so it was deeply encouraging to see a clear alignment between our offer and Diageo's strategy. Our shared values will enable us to support Diageo's FM outsourced model, capturing best practice and driving innovation to deliver greater customer satisfaction.

"I look forward to developing our relationship and playing a wider role in embedding a culture of service excellence at all of Diageo's sites."

Sodexo employs around 35,000 people in the UK and Ireland across 2,300 locations in the corporate, healthcare, education, leisure, justice and defence sectors, and has an annual turnover of over £1b.
