Ramada brand to be boosted by 20 hotels in UK
Twenty Ramada hotels are expected to open across the UK over the next 10 years following a franchise agreement between the US-based Wyndham Hotel Group and British company, Lester Hotels Group.
Lester Hotels, which now becomes the preferred management partner for Wyndham in the UK, is the owner of both the Leicester Stage and Finchley hotels, while the Cwrt Bleddyn and Hatfield properties are privately owned.
The rebranding of Cwrt Bleddyn and Leicester Stage will take the number of Ramada hotels in the UK up to 40.
Nima Davoodzadeh, vice-president of development, UK and Europe for Wyndham Hotel Group, said the company is looking to "aggressively accelerate" the growth of the Ramada brand in the UK.
"With a 60 year heritage that has seen the brand grow to over 820 locations across more than 50 countries, Ramada offers guests a welcoming environment for work or rest, as well as significant development potential for owners looking for a renowned brand, award-winning marketing and an extensive global distribution system," she explained.
Simon Lester, founder, chief executive officer and chairman of Lester Hotels Management Services, said the company is looking forward to opening more Wyndham branded properties in the UK. "The diversity and appeal of the Ramada brand in the UK perfectly complements both our own portfolio and a number of current opportunities."
In addition to the Lester Hotels agreement, Wyndham has this year also taken take over the management of Ramada Encore Leicester and signed a franchisee agreement for a new hotel in Oxford. Additional Ramada properties are due to open in Wakefield and Hounslow before the end of the year.
Ramada is one of 12 brands owned by the Wyndham Hotel Group, which operates across 7,590 hotels in 71 countries.
