Jason Atherton confirms expansion for 2015

Jason Atherton is set to open three new restaurants in 2015, including a new venture in New York, Bloomberg has revealed.

The Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur is set to open Social Wine first, in London's James Street, in April.

Weeks after that, in May, he is set to open a joint venture in New York with restaurateur Stephen Starr, who owns Morimoto and Buddakan, in Ian Schrager's new Edition hotel on Madison Avenue.

The name of the new restaurant has not yet be confirmed.

It will be the second opening in an Edition hotel for Atherton, who last year launched Berners Tavern in the London Edition on Berners Street.

A Japanese venue called Sosharu in the Turnmills development in Clerkenwell is due to follow in July, headed by chef Alex Carciun.

Atherton currently operates 14 restaurants, including six in London, three in Singapore, three in Hong King, and two in Shanghai.
