Chef Angela Hartnett joins the board of Lime Wood Group and Home Grown Hotels
Chef Angela Hartnett has been appointed to the boards of Lime Wood Group and Home Grown Hotels as a company director, as her involvement in Hartnett Holder & Co has been confirmed for a further three years.
The news comes two and a half years after Hartnett started working with the five-red-AA-star, 32-bedroom Lime Wood hotel to launch the Hartnett Holder & Co restaurant, alongside executive chef Luke Holder.
Robin Hutson, chairman and chief executive of Lime Wood Group and Home Grown Hotels, which operate the Pig hotels, said that Hartnett had become "a very important member" of the senior team and brings and "extra prospective" to the male dominated board. "Her contribution to the restaurant operation has been considerable and her style is a great fit for us," he explained. Angela exudes all that encompasses Lime Wood and the Pig, with an easy going approach to work which is complemented with a firm grasp on attention to detail.
"Her Italian heritage brings with her a strong sense of family importance which transcends into the kitchen and beyond. We wanted to recognise her contribution to date and cement the relationship for the future with a seat on both boards."
Hutson confirmed that Hartnett had signed a new three-year contract for her continued involvement with Hartnett Holder & Co.
Hartnett added: "I love working with Luke Holder and the whole Lime Wood team, having never been involved with a country hotel it has been fascinating for me and a good contrast to my London restaurants. I am both thrilled and honoured Robin wanted me to join the boards of both hotel groups and look forward with great excitement to the years ahead."
Hartnett Holder & Co has been a great success since launching in 2012 when it replaced what was deemed to be a dated and old-fashioned hotel dining room. This year it has been named Best Restaurant in the Mr & Mrs Smith Awards 2014 and Best Dining Experience and Best Wine List in the Conde Nast Johansens Awards 2014.
While Hartnett Holder & Co is Hartnett's only restaurant outside London, in the capital she is chef-proprietor of the one-Michelin-starred restaurant Murano in Mayfair, which she bought from Gordon Ramsay Holdings in October 2010, and also runs Café Murano in St James and the Merchants Tavern in Shoreditch.
