Les Routiers 2015 winners announced
The winners of the 2015 Les Routiers awards have been announced, with the Talbot Hotel in Northamptonshire named Hotel of the Year, and Fumo in the West Midlands named Restaurant of the Year.
The awards seek to recognise establishments that meet and exceed membership standards, with the winner being chosen for consistently showing exceptional levels of service, hospitality and quality of food.
Other notable awards included the Pub of the Year, won by the George & Dragon in Arundel, West Sussex; the Inn of the Year by Shibden Mill in Halifax, West Yorkshire; and Newcomer of the Year, the Mandolay, Guildford, Surrey.
The Hotel of the Year, full name the Talbot Hotel, Eatery and Coffee house, in Northamptonshire, is a former 17th century coaching in, and is now owned by the UK-based, seven-hotel Bulldog Hotel Group.
Commenting on the award, Bulldog managing director Kevin Charity said: "The Talbot was given an extensive facelift recently and the feedback from our customers and staff has been tremendous. Our aim is to be the best independent operator of regional hotels in the country and this award is testimony to the success of our continued investment programme and dedication to the highest standards of customer service."
The Les Routiers group was created in Paris in 1935, and is now formed of members throughout the UK and Europe, including mainly-independent hotels, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, bars, bistros and cafés.
