London fish and chip brand Kerbisher & Malt is to open its fifth site this month, near Exmouth Market.
Named Kerbisher EC1, after the area’s postcode, the 12-seat site is planned as the first in a series of smaller, takeaway-focused offshoots of the main brand, which was co-founded in 2011 by former Racine chef Saul Reuben and entrepreneur Nick Crossley.
Opening on 20 January, it will offer a reduced version of the usual menu, with options such as sustainably-sourced fish, twice-fried chips, fish finger butties, and pickled onion rings. Alternative options will include pork sausages and calamari.
The interior has been designed with Alexander Waterworth, to create a relaxed, urban-style décor focused on ‘in and out’ dining.
Crossley said: “We wanted to do a slightly different take on our Kerbisher & Malt restaurants, and this is the perfect area to launch.”
The brand aims to offer “fish and chips for the foodie generation”, and owns four other restaurant sites in Brook Green, Ealing, East Sheen, and Clapham.
