Call for innovations for The Idea Works!

Launched in 2012, the scheme has helped many businesses introduce their products to the market through the Compass sectors. Previous participants include Mr Sherick's Shakes, Jimmy's Iced Coffee, Leak Lizard and Cocktail Magic.

Oliver Cock, managing director, commercial of Compass Group UK & Ireland, explained: "We've discovered some exceptional ideas through this programme and it's a great way to support new, up and coming talent. To potentially have your product used or stocked in a sector of Compass is an exciting opportunity and would give many SMEs the launch pad needed to get their business on the right track. As an innovative business, we're proud to be able to support smaller organisations that have winning ideas."

The next judging event will take place on 21 January at The Hospitality Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

Successful shortlisted businesses and entrepreneurs will be invited to pitch to a panel of judges, Dragons' Den-style. If finalists get four yes votes from the judges, Compass will work with them to implement their idea into the Compass business and potentially to the wider market.

Judges for the next event include Mark Lewis, publisher, The Caterer; Steve Cenci, managing director, healthcare, Compass Group UK & Ireland; Paul Galvin, financial director, Compass Group UK & Ireland; and Nick Vadis, UK executive chef, Compass Group UK & Ireland.

To apply online visit www.compass-ideaworks.co.uk before 14 January.
