Public invited to vote for SRA award winner

The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) is inviting the public to vote for the restaurant they think deserves to be crowned People's Favourite.

Five restaurants have made the shortlist in the category, which forms part of the Sustainable Restaurant Awards 2015, including the Bay Fish and Chips in Aberdeenshire, Silo in Brighton and Star Bistro in Gloucestershire.

The majority of awards will be decided on the scores each business received in its 2014 SRA rating. They are judged on sustainability, sourcing, society and environment.

Of the multiple nominees, the Pig in Brockenhurst has been shortlisted in three categories: English Sustainable Restaurant of the Year, the SRA Award for Sourcing and Hotel Restaurant of the Year. Meanwhile Carluccio's and Boston Tea Party are both shortlisted for Sustainable Large Group of the Year and the SRA Award for Society.

Boston Tea Party is also shortlisted in the Award for Innovation category, where it is joined by Wahaca which has introduced insects to its menu.

The award winners will be announced at a gala lunch being held at the Oval Space on 23 February.
