The Hoxton, Shoreditch appoints Simon Galic as GM

Simon Galic has been appointed general manager of the Hoxton, Shoreditch, the original property in the brand of design-led budget hotels.

He joins the 210-bedroom hotel, taking over from Timothy Griffin who has been promoted to brand director of The Hoxton, which now has a second hotel in London in Holborn. A third property will open in Amsterdam in July, with two further hotels launching next year in Williamsburg (New York) and Paris next year.

Galic previously spent 11 years with Firmdale Hotels, most recently as general manager at Number Sixteen in South Kensington, London.

After studying hospitality management in Bristol and starting his career in Bath, he moved to London in 2004 as operations manager of the Sherlock Holmes hotel, part of the Park Plaza Hotels group. He joined Firmdale two years later as deputy general manager at the Pelham hotel.

The Hoxton is owned by the private equity group Ennismore Capital.
