Greyhound on the Test appoints new chef
The Greyhound on the Test pub in Stockbridge, Hampshire, has appointed Chris Heather as its new head chef.
The move comes after former head chef Alan Haughie left to start his own catering business.
Heather joins the pub, which was voted Michelin pub of the year in 2014, from the Kings Arms in Hampshire, which was formerly run by Lucy Townsend, who now runs the Greyhound on the Test.
He started his career as a kitchen porter, aged 14, and then progressed to a three-year apprenticeship at Botley Park hotel in Southampton, before travelling to Australia for 18 months where he worked as a chef at Bondi Icebergs in Sydney, on Bondi Beach.
After he returned to the UK he worked at the Ivy for 18 months.
The Greyhound on the Test, which was re-launched with a new menu in March 2013, is run by Townsend on behalf of two private investors. Townsend comes from the Miller Collection, where she worked for five years as chief operations officer, running nearby rivals including the Peat Spade, the Anchor Inn at Lower Froyle and the Queen's Arms.
