Five Guys applies for licence change on Embankment site

Five Guys has applied for a change of premises licence for its latest London site, on Villiers Street near Embankment Tube station.

The rapidly growing fast-food business acquired the former Cafe Rouge at 9-11 Villiers Street last month with the aim of opening later this year.

Now Five Guys JV Ltd has applied to change the premises licence at the site to allow it to serve breakfast from 7am and to extend its opening hours to midnight on Thursday and to 11pm on Sunday.

Five Guys was first established in the Washington DC metro area in 1986 by the Murrell family and now has more than 1,200 sites globally.

It opened its first UK site in Covent Garden in 2013 and has since expanded to over 20 UK sites. Most recently it opened at Intu shopping centre in Braehead Glasgow, and there are also openings scheduled for Ealing, Wimbledon, Nottingham, Cardiff and Glasgow Silverburn.
