Applications open for BBC MasterChef: The Professionals 2015

Professional chef applications are now open for the eighth series of the BBC One series MasterChef: The Professionals.

All applicants must be aged 20 or over on 1 May 2015, and need to have worked as a chef in a professional kitchen for at least two years, or have minimum qualifications at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Applicants from Northern Ireland must have the NTCB certificate in Professional Cookery.

Anyone entering must also commit to being available for all filming days required.

As in previous series, the judges will include Monica Galetti, sous chef at Michelin-starred London restaurant Le Gavroche, Gregg Wallace, and, in his second year of the competition, two-Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing, who took over his judging role from Michel Roux Jr in the 2014 series.

All applications are being accepted via www.masterchef.com, and the deadline is the end of April.

Previous winners have included Aaron Ashmore, who after winning the fifth series of the show landed a commis chef job with Marcus Wareing; and Steve Groves, then of London restaurant Launceston Place, who in 2013 was named the head chef at Roux at Parliament Square.

The show announced two winners in 2012: Anton Piotrowski (head chef at the Treby Arms) and Keri Moss (executive chef at the Patch in East Dulwich). The 2013 winner was Steven Edwards, then from the Camellia at the South Lodge hotel, and now chef director, with business partner Josh Stanzl, at his own masterclass and recipe development company Etch.
