Lunya appoints general manager amid planned northern expansion

Lunya owners Peter and Elaine Kinsella have appointed a general manager for their Catalan restaurant as they look to expand the brand.

Ian Jackson (pictured) will take on the day to day running of the Liverpool restaurant, to allow the Kinsella's to concentrate on developing further sites in the north.

Peter Kinsella said: "We are delighted to be appointing such an experienced hospitality professional as Ian. It gives us the confidence to spend more time away from Liverpool and concentrate on opening in Manchester later this year."

A management consultant before opening Lunya in Liverpool One in 2010, Peter Kinsella is executive chef of the business, which won the 2015 Good Food Guide North West Restaurant of the Year.

Director of operations Elaine Kinsella added: "It's like leaving a baby for the first time. We have invested every bit of money we have and all of our time into making Lunya the success it is. We have come a long way in five years, and are very confident that Ian gives us the bedrock we need to develop our family business further."

Jackson, whohas previously worked at Hetland Hall hotel and Barbecoa, said: "This is a dream job for me, working in an establishment that is passionate to the core about its fabulous food, wine and drinks range. I'm looking forward to making a major contribution to Lunya's further success and planned expansion."
