Waitrose boss to speak at The Caterer Digital Summit
Waitrose retail director Rob Collins is to appear among the technology experts speaking at this year's The Caterer Digital Summit.
The e-commerce expert will explain what hospitality can learn from supermarkets in terms of data mining and marketing, and will address how to engage with guests to deliver exactly what they want.
Taking place at Kings Place in London on 12 May 2015, the Digital Summit will also address the practicalities of delivering mobile payment, the new practices that are set to shake up revenue management, and explore how to develop a modern digital strategy.
Among the innovative operators attending, Sticky Walnut owner Gary Usher will take the stage to explain how an engaging social media strategy helped boost a successful crowdfunding campaign for his second site.
The restaurateur raised £100,000 in 30 days, to open sister restaurant Burnt Truffle. Usher drove the campaign largely through Twitter, and will share how he has used the medium to raise awareness and funding.
The Caterer deputy editor James Stagg said: "Through a series of lively, engaging and educational sessions, this year's Digital Summit will showcase all the technology and innovative thinking that's shaking up hospitality.
