Wildwood operator sees profits grow by 46%

Tasty plc, which operates restaurants under the Dim T and Wildwood brands, has increased pre-tax profit by 46% to £2.55m.

The group also grew revenue by 28% to £29.7m in the 52 weeks to 28 December 2014.

It now operates 39 restaurants, made up of six Dim T's, 32 Wildwoods and Wildwood Kitchens and one pub, the Old Bear in Cobham, Surrey.

In the period, Tasty opened seven new Wildwood and Wildwood kitchen restaurants including its Bristol, Salisbury and Nottingham sites.

Despite the strong results, joint chief executive Jonny Plant struck a cautious note.

"There have been a number of encouraging signs regarding the UK economic outlook. However, there still remains a high level of uncertainty," he said.

"Deterioration in consumer confidence due to future economic conditions could have a detrimental impact on the group in terms of footfall and sales. This risk is mitigated by the positioning of the group's brands, which is within the affordable segment of the casual dining market."
