Brownsover Hall hotel in Rugby sold for £3.25m
The 47-bedroom Brownsover Hall hotel in Rugby has been sold to a Singaporean company for £3.25m.
Located in a Grade II-listed Victorian Gothic mansion within seven acres of grounds, the hotel has been acquired by a Singapore-based hospitality company Brownsover UK , backed by Indian Ocean Group and Deer Creek Advisors. The hotel will continue to be managed by the Vineyard Group.
Twenty-seven bedrooms of the hotel are located in the main mansion, while the remainder are situated in outlying buildings including the Stables, Coach House and Coachman's Cottage. Architect Sir George Gilbert Scott designed the property in around 1855.
Colliers International handled the sale of the property on behalf of American property company Northwood Investors, which recently bought Highcross Strategic Partners, the previous owner of Brownsover Hall.
Julian Troup, head of hotels agency at Colliers International, said: "With its sweeping staircase and feature fireplaces, Brownsover Hall Hotel is magnificent.
"With its unique and historical features the hotel continues to attract a wide ranging clientele. This latest sale is another example of how we are continuing to see oversees interest in the UK Hotels market, particularly from investors in south and south east Asia."
