KFC fire closes M25 service area
A service area on the M25 in Surrey has been closed down following a fire at KFC restaurant.
A total of eight fire engines and three other vehicles from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze at Cobham Services at 7.30 this morning.
It took 40 firefighters and an aerial ladder platform two hours to bring the fire under control.
Smoke from the fire was reported to have blown across the motorway, although it is not thought that the blaze had an effect on traffic.
A Surrey Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called to a fire at Cobham services on the M25 at around 7.30 this morning. We sent eight fire engines, a water carrier and a command unit to the scene and around 40 firefighters [tackled the fire]."
