Man charged over Southampton hotel fires

A man has been charged with arson in relation to two fires at hotels in the centre of Southampton.

Colin Clarke, 36, of no fixed address, was charged with two counts of arson with intent, one count of arson and one count of attempted arson, according to the BBC.

The charges follow fires at Jury's Inn hotel in Charlotte Place on Thursday 16 April, and another at Premier Inn, Six Dials, on Friday 17 April.

He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court today (Monday 20 April).
