Polpetto chef Florence Knight is new Sunday Times cook
Head chef at London restaurant Polpetto and culinary writer Florence Knight is to join the Sunday Times newspaper as cook.
She will take over from outgoing cook Gizzi Erskine, who took on the role in 2013, and contribute recipes and ideas every week that are intended to be inspirational, and simple to prepare using fresh ingredients.
Her first recipes will appear in the Sunday Times Magazine's cookery section, the Dish, on 17 May. Chef and broadcaster Jamie Oliver will also appear.
Knight became well-known for her focus on simple, fresh food at Polpetto, the Italian-style restaurant from Russell Norman and Richard Beatty.
Florence Knight says: "I feel very privileged to be working with The Sunday Times. Food is my life, and I'm really looking forward to sharing my recipes which are grounded in simplicity and a love of the very best seasonal, home-grown ingredients."
The Sunday Times food editor, Laurel Ives, added: "Florence is a British success story who delights in home-grown produce and traditions, and I'm delighted that she will be creating achievable new recipes, exclusively for our readers."
