Gaius Wyncoll joins Lainston House as general manager

Gaius Wyncoll has been appointed general manager of the Exclusive Hotels and Venues luxury country house hotel Lainston House, near Winchester.

He brings 20 years' hotel management experience to the 50-bedroom, five-AA-star Hampshire property.

His career has included a 12-year tenure as a food and beverage specialist at Macdonald Hotels, and he was most recently general manager at the Compleat Angler hotel in Marlow. Prior to that, he spent eight years at the Forte Hotels Group.

Commenting on his new role, Wyncoll said: "I'm delighted to be joining the Exclusive Hotels and Venues family. With so many exciting developments in the pipeline at both Lainston House and across the wider group, my appointment couldn't have been better timed."

Danny Pecorelli, managing director of Exclusive Hotels and Venues, said: "Providing the highest levels of service to our guests is our number one priority, and with his vast experience and dedication to hotel management Gaius is ideally placed to lead the hotel forward."

The 50-bedroom hotel is set within 63 acres of countryside and features a three AA-Rosette restaurant, the Avenue, headed by chef Olly Rouse. It is to launch an on-site cookery school named Season, this summer.
