New Cosmo concept Authentic World Kitchen now open
The Authentic World Kitchen, the Cosmo group's new flagship restaurant in Nottingham, is now open.
First announced last year, the Nottingham Milton Street site has 350 seats, cost £2m to fit out and is the group's 17th UK outlet.
It includes a host of new innovations for the company, such as a higher standard of décor, updated branding, new dishes, a holographic receptionist designed to welcome guests in the lobby, and a selection of smaller, individual-sized dishes which fit on plates that slot into specially-designed boards mounted on the dining room's tables.
The latter concept has been designed to encourage diners to keep their varying cuisines separate, and help to cut down on food waste by limiting portion sizes and the amount of leftovers.
The restaurant offers Cosmo's buffet-style choice, featuring 150 dishes inspired by countries including Japan, China, Italy, India, Thailand, and Brazil, plus a British-style carvery.
The site also has two VIP rooms, three main kitchens and eight live cooking stations, with names such as La Cuisina Italiana, House of Spice and World of Asia.
James Brion, creative director and a partner at the Cosmo restaurant group, said: "We are extremely proud to open what we believe is one of the most imaginative and innovative world buffet restaurants anywhere in the UK. We are taking all of that to another level in Nottingham, with a host of brand new, fresh ideas that we are confident will bring a brand new experience to the city."
The Nottingham site is the third Cosmo outlet to have been opened in the past year, after launches in Glasgow and York. The restaurant group, which offers a set price all-you-can eat menu starting at £7.99 for lunch, operates 17 branches overall including in Derby, Sheffield, Coventry, Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol and Swansea.
