Seven Michelin stars for chefs at the 2015 Hospitality Action polo day

Michelin-starred chefs including Martin Burge, Richard Davies and Josh Eggleton are to take part in Hospitality Action's annual polo day this September.

In what will be the event's sixth year, the fundraising day will see the South West-based team prepare and serve a three-course lunch at the Beaufort Polo Club, in Gloucestershire. Guests will also receive a Champagne reception, and afternoon tea.

The chef brigade, which will have seven Michelin-stars overall, will also include Hywel Jones from Lucknam Park, Wiltshire; Sam Moody of the Bath Priory, and Richard Picard-Edwards of Lords of the Manor, Gloucestershire. Burge is head chef at Whatley Manor, Wiltshire; Davies is executive chef at the Manor House, Wiltshire; and Eggleton is chef patron at the Pony & Trap, in Chew Magna near Bristol.

All the chefs will be supported by the team at Calcot Kitchens from the Calcot Manor hotel, plus young trainees from the City of Bath College, Gloucestershire College, City of Bristol College, and the Hiit Training Academy.

Last year's event raised over £40,000, and the teams are hoping to raise more than that this year. A place at the polo day is priced at £90 per person, or £850 for a table of 10.

Richard Ball, Hospitality Action trustee and executive chairman of partner hotel group Calcot Hotels, added: "The Hospitality Action Polo Day remains a firm favourite amongst supporters of the charity. It always sells out in record time and we expect this year to be no different.

"The day is a real team effort and the amount of support we receive; from the students who work front of house through to our generous suppliers and sponsors, enables the event to raise as much as possible for those in crisis."

Staying within the Cotwolds area, the industry's benevolent charity is also holding a fundraising Cotswolds Cycle Challenge with cycling routes of 20, 60, and 100 miles on Monday 8 June. All keen cyclists are invited to take part.
