Joe's Oriental Diner moves to east London

Scott Hallsworth's restaurant Joe's Oriental Diner is to move from the King's road in London to the Laundry building in east London.

The restaurant will open in the new venue in Warburton Road on 20 May.

Built in the 1960s as a commercial laundry, the building is now a creative hub in London Fields, Hackney, and is home to music and arts workspaces, as well as a basement event space.

Joe's Oriental Diner was launched in the King's Road when it replaced Hallsworth's Kurobuta after it moved to a bigger venue on the same road at the beginning of this year.

The group opened a second Kurobuta, on Kendal Street near Marble Arch, in early 2014.

Joe's Oriental Diner offers Pan Asian food which aims to reflect recipes consumed in the ports of Asia.

Typical dishes on the menu include: crab Rangoon with sweet chilli dip; gai yang BBQ chicken with sticky bag rice; wood fired jumbo shrimp; and duck leg red curry with lychees.
