Summer opening announced for Middlesbrough Holiday Inn Express
A new Holiday Inn Express in Middlesbrough is expected to open in August following a £12.4m project to redevelop Cook and Endeavour House on Albert Road.
Property developer Ashall Projects, with assistance from Middlesbrough Council, is responsible for revamping the site into a new 138-bedroom hotel dubbed Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough - Centre Square.
Newly appointed general manager Mark Winter is set to hold a recruitment day on Thursday 11 June at Middlesbrough Town Hall in a bid to fill 14 roles at the hotel, including front of house, housekeeping, waiting and maintenance.
He said: "We're looking for lots of people to fill a variety of positions, from individuals with little or no experience looking to kick-start their careers to more experienced professionals with the drive to help us build a hotel that guests and local residents alike will love.
"The recruitment drive for Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough marks the next stage in what has been an extremely successful regeneration led by Ashall Projects and the local council. I'm looking forward to finding a new and exciting team that will help take this project into its final phase as we march closer to the official opening in August."
Hotel management company Redefine BDL Hotels will operate the hotel and is responsible for hiring the new team.
