Dale DeSimone joins Grosvenor House as executive pastry chef
Dale DeSimone has been named executive pastry chef at London's Grosvenor House hotel.
He joins the JW Marriott property with more than 20 years' experience in hotels, including at the Savoy and Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons branded properties, as well as restaurants across the USA, the UAE and London.
Born in Philadelphia, DeSimone was most recently at Pierre Gagnaire's Sketch restaurant, where he was head pastry chef overseeing patisserie for the Parlour, Gallery Brasserie and afternoon tea, as well as the two-Michelin-starred Lecture Room & Library.
He will lead a nine-strong pastry team at the Grosvenor House, which will once again host the Catey awards on 7 July in its Great Room. DeSimone will also lead pastry across all ballroom events, 86 Park Lane meetings and conferences, the executive lounge and afternoon tea in the Park Room, JW Steakhouse, Park Lane Market and in-room dining for 496 bedrooms and suites.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: "The history, scale and prestige of Grosvenor House is incredible and it is a privilege to be appointed as Executive Pastry Chef. I am looking forward to bringing my experience, applying it to the intricacies of such a large hotel and exploring new and exciting opportunities for guests."
