Ramen bar Kanada-Ya to open second site
London Japanese ramen restaurant Kanada-Ya is to open a second site, later this year.
The new venue will open at 3 Panton Street in London in September 2015, a year after the launch of its first UK site at 64 St Giles High Street.
The brand already has venues in Japan and Hong Kong.
The new Panton Street restaurant will offer the same selection of ramen as its sister site, alongside some new additions such as fried chicken, gyoza and korokke.
There will also be an extended drinks menu with the introduction of bottled cocktails, rare Japanese beers and a wider wine selection.
Kanada-Ya Panton Street will seat up to 56 covers over two floors (ground and basement) with bookable tables for larger groups of 6. It will be open for lunch and dinner.
The brand was founded by Kanada Kazuhiro in Yukuhashi, Japan, back in 2009. All noodles are made on site with a special machine, imported from Japan, that uses a specific brand of flour, enriched with the right protein content and alkaline salts to produce a bouncy, firm noodle capable of standing up to the broth they are served in.
