Matthew Drinkwater joins Dukes London as operations manager

Matthew Drinkwater has been appointed hotel operations manager at the five-red-AA-star, 90-bedroom Dukes London hotel.

Drinkwater is a St Julian's scholar and a winner of an Acorn Award in 2011. He has also previously worked at Danesfield House hotel and spa in Marlow as deputy general manager and Felbridge hotel in East Grinstead as operations manager, as well as undertaking two stints with Hand Picked Hotels.

Drinkwater said it is an "exciting time" to be joining the Dukes Collection, which is set to open a 273-bedroom hotel in Dubai next year. "The hotel's culture for excellent service is something the team have become well-known for in the industry over the past few years, and I hope to continue to build on this amazing reputation in the future," he said.

Debrah Dhugga, managing director of Dukes London, added that she is impressed by Drinkwater's quality in service delivery. "His enthusiasm for our industry is refreshing and I look forward to working with him and developing his future career within the Dukes Collection."

Dukes London, which is owned by Seven Tides, is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World consortium.
