The Lanesborough unveils its multi-million pound new look
The Lanesborough hotel in London has unveiled the first images of its multi-million pound refurbishment as it gears up to welcome its first guests next week after a 19-month closure.
Room and restaurant reservations will be available on a request basis from 1 July, while all 93 bedrooms, including 43 suites, will be available for booking, from 15 July.
Owned by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, the Lanesborough, which was managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts under its luxury St Regis brand until its closure in December 2013, will now be operated by Oetker Collection.
The new look hotel, designed by Alberto Pinto, will include the refurbished restaurant, which has been renamed Celeste from Apsleys. Eric Frechon of the three-Michelin-starred Le Bristol Paris will oversee the food and beverage operation, while his protege Florian Favario will run the kitchen on a day-to-day basis.
The hotel will also feature seven private dining rooms, the Garden Room cigar lounge and the Library bar.
Room rates, starting from £715, will be among the highest in London.
