New private feedback feature added to TripAdvisor's Review Express

Independent hotel and bed & breakfast owners are now able to encourage guests to leave private feedback alongside posting a review on TripAdvisor.

The online review site has launched an extension to its free Review Express system, which helps hotels collect reviews following a guest's stay.

Review Express was launched in May 2013 and now has more than 100,000 business users.

The new private survey tool will allow accommodation owners to gain more detailed information about the feedback provided by guests.

Minesh Shah, senior director, global hotel partnerships, TripAdvisor said: "Since launch, over 100,000 hospitality businesses, including 60,000 accommodation owners, have used Review Express as part of their post-stay communication strategy and the results have been impressive. According to our data, Review Express users see on average a 28% increase in their number of reviews on TripAdvisor, demonstrating how impactful the tool can be in encouraging past guests or customers to share feedback.

"We know that both reviews and private feedback play an important role in helping hoteliers optimise operations and build customer loyalty."
