Chepstow Community Hospital under OCS care until 2020

Total facilities management group OCS is to continue to operate at Chepstow Community Hospital until 2020.

The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and Kintra has confirmed the continuation of the service, which OCS has provided to the hospital, which delivers primary, community and secondary care in one location, since 2000.

The services undertaken by OCS includes maintenance and engineering services, patient and retail catering, domestic cleaning, housekeeping, reception and switchboard, portering, laundry, and grounds and waste management.

Tony Lelliot, operational manager, Kintra, said: "OCS Healthcare has, in my experience, always strived to overcome problems and to go the ‘extra mile' in solving complex issues, whilst working collaboratively with all parties."

Bob Taylor, chief executive of OCS UK public sector healthcare and infrastructure, added: "We are delighted to be able to serve the hospital over a 20-year term and to develop our strong partnership with the board and Kintra. The board aims to achieve the highest standards and quality of service, and a long service agreement, such as this, enables us to deliver the maximum long-term benefits for the client and the people that it serves."

OCS, which offers 80 different services, operates in 50 countries with a total workforce of 91,000 people. Turnover for the year ending March 2014 was £871m.
