Established in 1891 Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club is a members club and whilst it is the oldest golf club in Dorset, the modern facilities and contemporary attitude make it very much part of the 21st Century. With a membership of over 600 and situated atop the world heritage Jurassic Coast near picturesque West Bay (scene of Broadchurch) in Dorset. We have an 18 hole, cliff top links course, driving range, practice facilities and superb ranch style clubhouse which was only opened in 2002.
We are currently inviting applications for the catering and bar management franchise based within the club. This may particularly suit a couple or partnership, but companies will also be considered.
This business opportunity requires a minimal amount of initial capital outlay and can bring great reward to individuals willing to work hard, with an element of added creativity, to exploit the commercial potential that exists. The club has modern facilities and a kitchen which has a 5-Star Food Hygiene Rating.
The priority is for our golfing members, guests and visitors as we have a full fixture list every year. We also have a strong social membership and are very keen to expand income from third party functions.
Sunday lunches, carveries etc prove popular and the club is increasingly playing host to numerous private bookings such as weddings and other milestone special occasions.
Our bar and cellar facilities allow us to offer a wide range of beers, including up to 3 local real ales, wines and spirits.
Applicants should hold a personal license and possess the enthusiasm and desire to be successful, complemented by a depth of experience in providing excellent customer service and catering skills.
Potential candidates will be keen to work with the club and introduce fresh initiatives to improve the use of the clubhouse facilities.
After short listing, the selection process could involve some practical elements and we would expect a business plan to be presented.
