Prezzo hoping to open new site in Grantham, Lincolnshire

Italian-style restaurant group Prezzo is reportedly hoping to open a new site in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

The 100-cover restaurant, for which the company has submitted plans to the council, would be on the town's St Peter's Hill, replacing some rundown units that were formerly occupied by a bank and a charity shop, according to local newspaper the Grantham Journal.

Should its plans go ahead, the new site would be open from midday to 11.30am seven days a week.

A casual dining group, first opened by chief executive Jonathan Kaye in Oxford in 2000, and part of the same group that operates Chimichanga and Caffe Uno, Prezzo serves Italian-inspired dishes such as bruschetta, pizza, pasta, grills, risotto, burgers, and salad.

It has seen consistently strong financial results, and was taken over by Texas fund TPG Capital, for £304m, in January this year.

It operates over 250 sites across the UK.
