Major fire in Shoreditch pop-up restaurant
A major fire broke out at a pop-up restaurant in Shoreditch, east London in the early hours of yesterday morning (19 July 2015).
Fire crews were called to tackle the blaze, thought to be at the Dinerama street food market in Shoreditch, just before 4am.
Flames were visible across east London and roads were closed but there are not thought to have been any injuries.
A total of 35 firefighters from six stations attended the scene and the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said around half of the building was damaged by the fire.
The LFB also landed in hot water after it tweeted that "fortunately no hipsters were injured" in the incident. The joke was met with a mixed response on social media and the LFB later apologised.
It said: "Sorry if we caused any offence by using the term hipsters," and added: "Hope #Shoreditch businesses are back on their feet soon."
Dinerama is a 1,000 capacity street food market in Shoreditch with a selection of stalls offering cuisines from around the world.
