Bocca di Lupo pair to open Italian street food site
Bocca di Lupo owners Jacob Kenedy and Victor Hugo are to open Vico, an Italian street food restaurant, in London's Cambridge Circus.
The pair said the food would be inexpensive while cutlery would be frowned upon at Vico, which will serve pizza by the slice and a range of polpette and arancini, alongside fried seafood. There will be minimal seating to encourage an atmosphere that evokes an Italian piazza.
Kenedy will oversee the menu, which will he said would vary depending on what the markets, farms, hunters and fishermen deliver on any given day.
The front of the building will feature a Gelupo counter similar to the pair's site at London's Archer Street, with on-site production.
Kenedy said: "Vico is not a destination, it is a place en route. Somewhere to meet old friends and make new ones. To share a bite and a spritz or a carafe of wine, and then to share another. To come from work, before the theatre, before dinner, for dinner, after dinner, before drinks, en route home. It is a pleasant moment to pause along the hectic road we tread every day, to relax and to smile."
