Showcasing Scotland buyer and producer event set for October 2015
The Gleneagles hotel in Scotland is to host the second Showcasing Scotland event in October this year. The show exists as a platform for Scottish food and drink producers and buyers.
In association with Scotland Food & Drink, the event will take place from 6-9 October, and give buyers the chance to meet a range of producers from across the country, allowing companies to grow sales within the UK and international markets.
Producers will come from across a wide range of sectors, including dairy, red meat, drinks, bakery, premium grocery, seafood and salmon, with buyers from a range of areas including speciality retailers, major supermarket chains, fine-foods distributors, convenience and online, contract caterers, wholesalers and travel and tourism operators.
There will also be a full programme of seminars, a drinks reception and a gala dinner, to encourage further networking.
Last year's inaugural event was estimated to have attracted around 100 buyers and allowed participating companies to forecast £20m worth of additional sales. A number of buyers also met producers who went on to work together at high-profile events such as the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup.
James Withers, chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink, said: "Showcasing Scotland is a unique event. With provenance becoming of increasing importance to consumers, I'd encourage buyers to register for the opportunity to meet a wide range of relevant Scottish food and drink producers as well as learning more about what our industry has to offer."
You can register as a buyer on the Showcasing Scotland website.
