Novus relaunches two sites

Bar and restaurant group Novus Leisure, the firm behind brands such as Tiger Tiger and Balls Brothers, has relaunched two outlets in London. The works are part of its ongoing £3m-£4m investment programme to revamp 10 of its 45 UK sites this year.

Fifty9, formerly Babble, in Berkeley Square, Mayfair, and PI Bar near Piccadilly Circus have both undergone extensive refurbishments, along with the introduction of new food and drinks menus and staff training.

At Fifty9, which has a capacity for 300, the fresh contemporary design now includes poseur benches, artwork and space for relaxing and dancing. The new sharing menu offers curated cheese and charcuterie, home-made pizzetta and grilled sandwiches to appeal to both day and night customers.

The PI Bar replaces a coffee bar located in the ground floor of Novus's five-bar, two-club Piccadilly Institute. With capacity for 60 guests, it is now a modern industrial-style space that will operate alongside the other bars in the venue, which open until 3am.

Chief executive Toby Smith commented that staff training was crucial to the success of the refurbishments. "It is important to us that our teams are bursting with personalities, with storytellers who are knowledgeable, attentive and passionate about what they do."
