Facelift for Wolverhampton hotel
The Mount Hotel in Tettenhall Wood, Wolverhampton, has attracted several accolades in the wake of its recently completed £3m refurbishment.
Work started on the 65-bedroom hotel in 2011 and took three years to complete to accommodate bookings for weddings and functions.
As well as recommendations from TripAdvisor and Laterooms, the hotel's 38-seat Drawing Room Bar & Grill restaurant has subsequently been awarded an AA rosette. It has also been a finalist in England and Wales' Great Food Awards and scooped Black Country Large Hotel & Business.
Other improvements at the Grade II-listed Victorian property include a Champagne bar and modernised guest rooms, suites and a fully serviced apartment. Outdoor weddings can be held in the four acres of gardens.
Owner of the independent hotel, Scott Bernard, said: "We've opened a fantastic restaurant and are proud to be the setting for both business and leisure guests, in addition to offering the perfect setting to tie the knot."
