Premier Inn guest receives rude reception at Dartford Bridge hotel
A guest was ‘disgusted' when he was greeted with a rude welcome message on his TV screen at the Dartford Bridge Premier Inn.
Phil Burke took to Twitter after he was confronted with an insulting subtitle shortly after he checked in to his room at the budget hotel.
He tweeted Premier Inn: "Does anyone there care to comment on this disgusting message on my hotel TV? I can't express how disappointed I am. How on earth could you allow this to happen in the first place? I'm absolutely disgusted."
Burke described his stay as "awful" and said it was possibly the worst experience he has ever had at a hotel. He sent several complaints to Premier Inn via Twitter about his experience which included issues with his dinner, an uncomfortable bed and a poor view.
When a Premier Inn spokesperson apologised about the unpleasant welcome message at the hotel on the Bridge Business Park, Burke replied: "I expect nothing less. My stay was awful. Scaffolding outside my window and a nice view of a pylon, uncomfortable bed and my starter and main meal did not come as advertised. Possibly the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel."
A Premier Inn spokesperson said: "We take all complaints very seriously and a full investigation into how this occurred is underway.
"We apologise for any offence caused and Mr Burke's stay has now been refunded. We are pleased that he has also accepted our offer of a complimentary overnight stay at one of our hotels in the UK."
