Red Oak Taverns acquires 146 tenanted pubs
Tenanted and managed pub company Red Oak Taverns has acquired 146 tenanted pubs.
The sale of the pubs by leisure property specialists Christie + Co was brought on behalf of the liquidators handling the GRS group of companies, and brings Red Oak Taverns total number of pubs to 170 across England and Wales.
The GRS estate originally consisted of 463 pubs, of which more than 300 have now been sold by Christie + Co in the past three years. The company also sold Red Oak its first package of 32 pubs in 2011.
Noel Moffitt, director at Christie + Co, said: "The sale underpins the resurgence in market sentiment towards the tenanted pub sector, where buyers are seeing potential in the pubs and their tenants."
He added: "We are delighted to see [Red Oak's] growth continue through their positive approach and investment in the estate, and congratulate them on another excellent acquisition."
