Carluccio's to open Birmingham restaurant
Restaurant group Carluccio's is set to open its 93rd UK restaurant at the Grand Central shopping centre in Birmingham later this month.
The new 90-cover venue adjacent to Birmingham New Street rail station has 11 bar seats and covers 3,840 sq ft. It is the group's second site in Birmingham after the Brindley Place restaurant opened in 2010.
It is Carluccio's fourth launch in recent months, following Cheltenham (May), Barnet (June) and Bankside (July).
Simon Kossoff, chairman of Carluccio's, said: "The opening of Grand Central Birmingham is an exciting time for the city and we're very happy to be a part of it. This new retail hub adds a huge amount of variety to the Birmingham dining scene, for locals, visitors and commuters. Following the popularity of our first restaurant here at Brindley Place we hope that our second restaurant will be a welcome addition to the area and we look forward to opening our doors."
Founded in 1999 and named after founder, acclaimed cook, author and TV personality Antonio Carluccio (pictured), the Carluccio's group has more than 100 restaurants operating internationally in the UK, Ireland, Turkey, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Washington, US.
