Restaurant owner blames four-letter Facebook rant on hackers

A restaurant owner has denied he told a customer to "just f* off lady" on Facebook, claiming the account was hacked.

According to The Manchester Evening News, bosses of Lustiano restaurant believed that a disgruntled former employee left the comment.

Having been posted in the restaurant's name, they are not able to delete it as they don't have the Facebook password.

Diner Jennifer Bennett had posted: "Had a table booked for 7:30, turned up and you were closed!? I've emailed about it and still awaiting a response and there's no answer when I call! After having spent £6.50 on a taxi to Chorlton we ended up having to eat elsewhere so it was not the cheap night out we had hoped for. And having read some recent reviews on here I'm not even sure I actually want to redeem my Groupon voucher now…"

The response to the post from the restaurant simply read: "just f* off lady."

A spokesman for the restaurant told The Manchester Evening News that the owner was in Portugal. He said: "It's really sad. It was not the restaurant or the owner.

"We are trying to find out who did it. Several members of staff have left over the last month and they knew the Facebook password…

"The owner wants to find the person who made the booking and compensate her for any damage."

He added that the restaurant had been forced to close for emergency repair work and that it hadn't been possible to contact Bennett as staff had incorrect contact details.
