Cornish Sea Salt Company targets international growth

The Cornish Sea Salt Company has announced plans to target increased international sales and ramp up its UK production facilities following £975,000 in growth capital funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial and a £307,000 grant from Cornwall Marine Network.

Since its launch in 2007, revenues have increased steadily and revenue for its 2015 financial year is forecast to grow at 28% year-on-year to £2.3 million.

The funding will be used to expand its Cornwall production facilities to fulfil domestic and international demand, and will also enable the company to add 25 full-time staff by the end of 2017.

Mark Sullivan, chairman of Cornish Sea Salt, said: "We are delighted to secure the support and funding from Santander's growth capital fund, which will allow us to expand our production facilities and support our growth ambitions. The team have spent time to understand our business and delivered a solution with speed and efficiency."
